Spreading The Word:
The first month of 2003 was a trial by fire for the now tightened line-up, playing six performances within fifteen
days, including a highly-successful debut at the world-famous Whisky A-Go-Go in Hollywood. This was followed by a
string of gigs in and around the local Long Beach scene, highlighted by breakout shows at local hot-spot DiPiazza.
The Spring ended with another highly successful show at the Whisky.
Throughtout these two dozen shows, the band began giving away promotional merchandise. The first show in Hollywood
featured one-time-only T-shirts and a few two-song CDs. After a sexy and risque photo-shoot, the second Hollywood show debuted the
results of many hard hours in the home studio: a five-song CD with full color cover, photo layout and lyric-sheet.
The rest of the year brought a deliberate slow-down in gigs, with the band focusing on finishing newer material,
expanding their range of covers and preparing for more work in the studio. As 2004 began, it didn't take long for things
to pick back up. A string of warm-up shows back at The Stagger Inn prepared them for their strongest year yet, but
changes were brewing beneath the surface.
